Once I was seeking the Lord to better understand faith. I had a vision. I saw a man coming before God with his hands in his pockets. He was not ready to receive anything from God and didn’t expect anything. Then I saw a man coming with his hands full of his “good works” telling God how he had done so much for God that he deserved God’s help. This man also received nothing from God. Then I saw a third man who came before God with outstretched, empty hands. The Father filled his hands with blessings and answered his prayers. Faith is the hand that receives what the grace of God freely gives. – Joe McIntyre
Declaration: Father, let us come to you with open hands, casting our cares and adoration upon you and receiving your rivers of living water each morning. Thank you that you give us grace and mercy to help in time of need – more than enough to handle whatever you have in store for us each day.
Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV | The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
John 7:37 ESV | On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
Hebrews 4:15 ESV | For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
